SECY-93-171 - REGION V LIGNMENT STUDY and SECY-93-252 - SUPPLEMENT O THE REGION V REALIGNMENT STUDY The Commission (with the Chairman and Commissioners Rogers and Remick agreeing) has approved Option 3 as discussed in SECY-93-171, which would establish a Region IV field office in Walnut Creek with limited responsibility for day-to-day activities of the power reactor program plus a public affairs presence.

Commissioner de Planque would have preferred to adopt a modified Option 0, which would have left the Region V office in place with some streamlining.

In implementing Option 3, the staff should incorporate the additional savings which may be available from Option 0 efficiencies.
