PRESENT REGULATIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE COMMISSION'S SAFETY GOALS This is to advise you that the Commission has not objected to the staff intention to utilize the results from the major ongoing and complementary programs, as described in the subject paper, to develop insights into the effectiveness of the regulations with respect to the safety goals.

The staff should keep the Commission informed of progress on these efforts.
