SUBJECT:

INITIAL LICENSE EXAMINATION REPORT During the week of August 9,1993, Mr. M. Bielby and others administered initial license examinations to three employees of your organization who operate the Perry Nuclear Station. At the conclusion of the examination, i

findings that evolved as a result of the examinations were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.

Three non-licensed operators were administered Reactor Operator examinations.

All individuals passed all sections of their respective examinations.

During administration of the written and operating portions of the examination, weaknesses were identified in the areas of system knowledge and communication.

Additional minor weaknesses were observed in the knowledge of administrative procedures. No written resporse is necessary for these items.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
