NIS-93-09-09 September 13,1993 Mr. John H. Austin, Chief Decommissioning and Regulatory Issues Branch Division of Low-Level Waste Management and Decommissioning Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 Ref: Letter, UNC (R. Gregg) to NRC (J. Austin), NIS-93-04-10 dated April 30,1993

Dear Mr. Austin,

i The referenced letter submitted Book 6 of UNC Naval Products' Final Decontamination and Decommissioning Surveys, dealing with the Septic Tank and Sewage Pump House.

Attached to this letter is additional information which should be appended to that report. The current information deals with elevated uranium levels that were found in the town sewage pumping station which receives the waste stream from the UNC sewage pump house, the remediation and survey of that facility, and the assessment performed by UNC to assure that no other areas were affected. Allinvolved areas have been demonstrated to f

meet the NRC's requirements for unrestricted release, If there are any questions regarding this submittal, please contact me.

Very truly yours, 3)?
