REGIO;; y 53 12G 31 pgo.39 August 27,1993 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region V Attn: B.H. Faulkenberry, Regional Administrator 1450 Maria Lane, Suite 210 Walnut Creek, CA 94596 License No. SNM-1227 Docket No. 70-1257

Dear Mr. Faulkenberry:

Subject:

Required Reporting of Effluents Pcr 10 CFR 70.59 As required by 10 CFR 70.59, Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) is reporting discharges of radioactive materials in the effluents from its nuclear fuels fabrication plant on Horn Rapids Road in Richland, Washington. Data from January 1,1993 to July 1,1993 are reported in the attached tables.

Solid effluent materials were shipped directly to U.S. Ecology for disposal and to Allied Technology Group for supercompaction prior to return to SPC. The gaseous effluent stack numbers 50 and 55 from the Solid Waste Uranium Recovery (SWUR) facility are temporarily shut down pending resolution of operationalissues with SWUR unrelated to environmental er.lissions. Stack number 47 at the Ammonia Recovery Facility (ARF) was equipped with a new stack sampler and is included for effluents for May and June.

Very truly yours, 06 Mc/
