Dear Mr. Philpott:
On May 3,1993, I sent a letter to C. T. M. Hall of Darchem Engineering requesting information on Darchem's fire barriers, a copy of which was forwarded to you on June 15, 1993. The information requested was to verify compliance with NRC fire protection regulations. We are not aware of any NRC licensees, however, who use your product to comply with NRC regulations currently, so I ask that you now disregard the previous request.
Our review of fire protection systems is associated with approval of a plant-specific application after an NRC licensee has selected a system and determined that it meets NRC regulations. We will formally review qualification test reports if and when a licensee submits them to our staff for compliance with our regulations.
