SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-424/93-11 and 50-425/93-11
Thank you for your response of August 23, 1993, to our Notice of Violation
issued on July 23, 1993, concerning activities conducted at your Vogtle
facility. We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the
requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. Your corrective actions will be examined during
future inspections.
In our review of your response we noted that you propose to use qualification
testing to demonstrate the capabilities of relays (Violation A, Example (1)).

You are cautioned that the technical adequacy of such testing must be well
l
supported. We currently have concerns regarding testing performed to qualify
l
similar equipment at other facilities.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
