Dear Mr. Chairman:
Section 15 of Public Law 100-408, "The Price-Anderson Amendments Act of 1988" enacted on August 20, 1988, requires the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to adjust the maximum standard deferred premium, presently 1
established at $63 million, for inflation.
Therefore, the Commission is amending its regulations in 10 CFR 140.ll(a)(4) to increase the $63 million per reactor por accident premium to $75.5 million per reactor per accident in accordance with the aggregate percentage change of 19.9 percent in the Consumer Price Index from August, 1988, through March, 1993.

Therefore, the Commission is amending its regulations in 10 CFR 140.11(a)(4) to increase the 563 million per reactor per accident premium to 575.5 million per reactor per accident in accordance with the aggregate perceneqe change of 19.9 percent in the Consumer Price Index from August,1988, though March,1993.
