August 1,1992 - July 31,1993 l Facility License R-117 !

L SUMM ARY OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE The reactor was in operation a total of 16.5 hours5.787037e-5 days
0.00139 hours
8.267196e-6 weeks
1.9025e-6 months
during the period. This includes time when the reactor was used for an " Approach to Critical" fuel loading experiment and the reactor was not actually critical. The :

remainder of operating time was due to fulfilling surveillance requirements and operator training. ,

 • This time includes that used for loading fuel elements during the Approach to Critical experiment and sub-critical time during the control rod calibration. The actual critical time was approximately 9.1 hrs. Virtually all of the energy generated was due to the power calibration surveillance. !

111. EMERGENCY SHUTDOWNS AND INADVERTENT SCRAMS -

I No emergency shutdowns or inadvertent scrams occurred during the reporting period. L IV. M AINTENANCE The HF3 tube for the source range detector was replaced with like kind and qualit) .

i V. CONDITIONS UNDER SECTION 50.59 OF 10CFR50 There were no changes to procedures, new experiments, or 50.59 reviews perfonned Juring the reporting period.

VI., VII., Vill. RADIOACTIVE RELEASE / RADIATION EXPOSURE Hecause of the low power and infrequent use of the LOPRA, its operation does not contribute to the release of ,

efnuents. Personnel radiation exposures for the laboratory are given in the Annual Repon for the Advanced k TRIGA Reactor, License No. R-ll5, Docket No. 50-151, dated February 22,1993. j I
