4 INTRODUCTION Zion Nuclear Generating Station is a two unit site, owned and operated by the Commonwealth Edison Company. Each unit incorporates a Westinghouse design Nuclear Steam Supply System which includes a four loop pressurized water reactor rated at 3250 Megawatts thermal and turbine generator rated at 1085 3
Megawatts electrical.
1 This report is a summary of the multi-frequency eddy current examination performed during the Spring 1992 Unit Two Refueling Outage #12. The examination was performed by ABB/ Combustion Engineering Inc. (CE).
During this outage Westinghouse Inconel 600 Mechanical Plugs were removed and replaced by CE Rolled or Welded Plugs.
Sleeving was employed as a method of repairing tubes to keep the a!Tected tubes in senice.

This graph is a further breakdown of the indication type that is most common to Zion Unit 2 (Roll Transition are indications). DRis are repaired, DRTs do not contain " crack like" indications and are left in senice.
All graphical representations of Zion data include total number ofindications found. Many tubes have undergone degradation at multiple locations. Therefore, each tube may be accounted for multiple times in the proceeding graphs.

l CONCLUSIONS Row I U-bend sections are continuing to degrade and require plugging.
The indications requiring corrective actions were primarily located at roll transitions.
These indications are presumed to be Stress Corrosion Cracking at the ID of the roll transition section of the affected tubes.
Zion continues to see no indication of OD Stress Corrosion Cracking at Support Plates.
The number of crevice region indications decreased substantially since the 1990 ECT inspection.
Only 1.3% of the repairs made during refueling 12 were Tech. Spec. required.
