This special report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 1 Operating License NPF-11, Appendix A, and Technical Specifications 3.3.7.9 and 6.6.C.

On August 6, 1993, at 1315 hours0.0152 days <br />0.365 hours <br />0.00217 weeks <br />5.003575e-4 months <br />, Fire Detection Zone 1-26 (which is located in Fire Area 1) exceeded its 14 day time clock because the detectors were taken out of service due to spurious alarming.

Nuclear Work Request Number L23646 was written to repair the problem.

In accordance with the first Action Statement of Technical Specification 3.3.7.9, an Hourly Fire Watch was established to inspect the affected Fire Detection Zone during the time that the detectors were inoperable.

A Special Report is required because the problem could not be corrected prior to exceeding the 14 day time clock.

Post Maintenance Testing on Fire Detection Zone 1-26 was completed and the system was declared operable on August 30, 1993.
