During the Six (6) month period ending June 30, 1993 Northern States Power Company conducted 1,451 drug and alcohol tests in accordance with 10CFR26.
NSP workers subject to random drug and alcohol testing are each assigned to one of three pools: Prairie Island, Monticello, and General Office.
Random test rates for each pool are as follows:
Semi-Annual Period l
Pools Ending 6/92 General Office 110%
Monticello 109%
Prairie Island 105%
ALL 107%
For the reporting period ending June 30, 1993, all 5 workers i
testing positive-for drugs or alcohol were immediately denied unescorted access.
Of this group, none have been returned to duty.

For the semi-annual period referenced herein all blind-specimens submitted to NSP's HHS-certified laboratory i
yielded expected results.
3.
NSP has analyzed program performance data for the six (6) month period ending June 30, 1993 and is in the process of revising existing FFD procedures to incorporate enhancements j
as indicated by the analysis.
