NSD931010 August 25, 1993 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention:

Document Control Desk Washington, D. C.

20555 Gentlemen:

Subject:

Semi-annual Fitness-For-Duty Performance Report Cooper Nuclear Station NRC Docket 50-298, DPR-46

Reference:

Letter from G. R. Horn (NPPD) to NRC dated February 25, 1993,

" Semi-annual Fitness-For-Duty Performance Report."

In accordance with the Provisions of 10 CFR 26.71(d), attached is the Nebraska Public Power District's (District's) Fitness-For-Duty (FFD) program semi-annual performance report for the period January 1,1993 - June 30, 1993.

This report has been prepared using the January, 1992 NUMARC form and accompanying instructions.

Also attached is a corrected report for the period July 1, 1992 -

December 31, 1992. A Quality Assurance Department audit of FFD activities conducted earlier this year identified errors in the number of random drug tests reported for that period.

These errors resulted from the inadvertent ommission of the random tests performed on FFD staff. A; a corrective action, the District is implementing a data base to ensure accurate compilation of FFD test data, and will include therein drug tests performed on FFD collection personnel.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
