PAYMENT OF CIVIL PENALTY

Dear Sir:

We accept the civil penalty proposed by the NRC with respect to two Technical Specification violations cited in NRC Inspection Report No. 50-62/93-02. Also, we appreciate the fact that the NRC recognized the extensive corrective actions we have taken by mitigating the base civil penalty by 50%. Accordingly, please find in attachment a check from the University of Virginia, number 00390575, dated August 5, 1993, and issued in the amount of two thousand dollars payable to the order of the Treasurer of the United States.
