Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Completion of Accident Generated Water Disposal
Dear Sir:
In accordance with the provisions of the Accident Generated Water (AGW) Disposal Completion Report, forwarded as Attachment 1 to Technical Specification Change Request (TSCR) No. 69, dated August 5,1993, GPU Nuclear herein repons that the TMI-2 program to dispose of AGW by evaporation has been completed.
Processing of AGW was concluded on August 12, 1993. The total volume of AGW disposed by evaporation was estimated to be 2.23 million gallons; the foreca:;ted volume of AGW was -
2.3 million gallons. As reflected in the Accident Generated Water Disposal Completion Repon, GPU Nuclear has concluded that all reasonable effort has been expended to collect and dispose of the AGW. A very small amount of residual water, less than 20,000 gallons,-
remains which could not be recovemd and evaporated in a manner consistent with sound ALARA practices. AGW disposal has been completed to the extent that the final volume -
specified in the AGW Completion Repon (Attachment 1, TSCR No. 69) has been achieved.
Therefore, GPU Nuclear concludes that the intent of the TMI-2 program to dispose of AGW has been met and the evaporator system operatio:: has been terminated.
