m NRC-04-92-037 Modification No. 4 Page 2 of 3 This modification is issued to allow the contractor, at no additional cost or obligation to the subject contract, to begin work on Task 2 prior to the completion of Task 1.

This action is taken based on the technical content of 1

the Draft Report for Task 1, which has been received and approved by the cognizant technical staff, being sufficient to allow initiation of Task 2.

As well, incremental funds of $75,000 are obligated under this contract which thereby increases the obligated amount from $325,000 to $400,000.

Accordingly, this contract is hereby modified as follows:

1.

Under subsection B.3 - CONSIDERATION AND OBLIGATION--COST PLUS FIXED FEE (JUNE 1988) ALTERNATE I (JUNE 1988), paragraphs c. and d. are hereby deleted in their entirety and substituted with the following in lieu thereof:

"c.

The amount presently obligated by the Government with respect to this contract is $400,000.

b.

It is estimated that the amount currently allotted will cover the performance of this contract through October 31, 1993.

2.

As required by the direction of this modification, the first paragraph of subsection C.I.3 - SCOPE OF WORK is hereby deleted in its entirety and substituted with the following two paragraphs in lieu thereof :

"The first 2 tasks described below relate to development of a technical data base on which to base amended regulations. The next 3 tasks relate to development of amended regulations and implementing regulatory guidance.

With the exception of. Task 2 of this contract, all other tasks-listed below shall be carried out sequentially, unless otherwise directed in writing by the NRC Contracting Officer, thus marking milestones in progress towards completion of the project. Work under Task 2 shall begin after NRC acceptance of the Draft Report l

for Task 1."

All other terms and conditions of this contract, including the contract ceiling amount of $1,234,542, remain unchanged.

A summary of obligations for this contract, from award date through the date of this action is given below:
