NRC-04-92-063 Modification No. 4 Page 2 of 3 The purpose of this modification is to 1.) increase the contract ceiling by

$16,755 from $204,087 to $220,842, 2.) incorporate within scope changes to the Statement of Work and 3.) extend the period of performance through June 30, 1993. Accordingly, the contract is hereby modified as follows:

Section B.3. CONSIDERATION AND OBLIGATION--COST PLUS FIXED FEE (JUN 1988) is revised as follows:

a. The total estimated cost to the Government for full performance of this contract is $220,842, of which the sum of $203,541 represents the estimated reimbursable costs, and of which $17,301 represents the fixed fee.
b. The amount obligated by the Government with respect to this contract is $220,842, f

Section C.1.3. SCOPE OF WORK is hereby revised to include Tasks 7 through 10 below:

Task 7.

Relationship of Aoina Information Specific data related to aging shall be identified for active components.

These components and associated aging mechanisms identified in the NPAR 7

reports shall be tied in with the aging data. Demonstrations of these relationships on specific components shall be made including justifications supporting the relationships.

Task 8.

Analytical Effort i

limited analyses shall be performed to demonstrate the effects of these relationships on plant risk. The effects of single and multiple component -

aging consistent with observed aging mechanisms shall be considered. Common i

mode, time dependent aging is an acceptable approach for showing these effects.

Task 9.

Evaluation of Results The results of the analyses shall be evaluated to determine the risk significance of aging associated with components under study. The technical basis for the findings shall be clearly identified and defensible based on l

data, operating experience, and NPAR information used in this effort. Also,

to be included, as appropriate, are the effectiveness of test and maintenance intervals for components involved.

Report Preparation j

Assemble the work of the previous tasks into a letter report. The draft letter report shall be transmitted for NRC review by May 28, 1993.

Following NRC review, a decision will be made by the NRC project manager as to whether the information shall be included in the NilREG/CR containing the Aging Data Analysis Methods and Demonstrations.

If the information will be included in the NUREG/CR, the chapter including the information and NRC comments shall be transmitted to the NRC by June 30, 1993. Otherwise, the final letter report shall be transmitted to the NRC by June 30, 1993.

TRAVEL One trip for one day in early May 1993 - round-trip from Columbus, Ohio, to NRC headquarters to discuss. status and accomplishments of this program.

Section F.6 is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:

The coritract period shall commence on March 6,1992 and shall expire on June 30, 1993.

A summary of obligations for this contract, from award date through the date of this action is given below:
