Attached is a petition to intervene dated August 6,
1993 and l
submitted by Cajun Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. The petition j
was filed in response to a notice of proposed issuance by the NRC staff of an amendment to the operating license for Gulf States Utilities' River Bend Station, Unit 1 (Docket No. 50-458).
The i
amendment would revise the license to reflect a change in ownership of Gulf States Utilities to Entergy Corporation. The notice was published in the Federal Reaister at 58 Fed. Reg. 36423, 36435 (July 7, 1992) (copy attached).

The petition to intervene is being referred to you for appropriate i
action in accordance with 10 C.F.R.
