Attached is a petition to intervene dated August

, 6, 1993 and l submitted by Cajun Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. The petition j was filed in response to a notice of proposed issuance by the NRC  !

staff of an amendment to the operating license for Gulf States  ;

Utilities' River Bend Station, Unit 1 (Docket No. 50-458). The i amendment would revise the license to reflect a change in ownership of Gulf States Utilities to Entergy Corporation. The notice was  !

published in the Federal Reaister at 58 Fed. Reg. 36423, 36435  ;

(July 7, 1992) (copy attached). j i

The petition to intervene is being referred to you for appropriate i action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. Sec. 2.772 (j) .
