ACCEPTANCE FOR REFERENCING OF QPICAL REPORT CENPD-382-P,
" METHODOLOGY FOR CORE DESIGNS CONTAINING ERBIUM BURNABLE ABSORBERS" (TAC NOS. M79067 AND M82959)
We have reviewed the topical report and the supplement submitted in your letters of November 2, 1990, and February 25, 1992, and your responses to our requests for additional information of January 11 and 26, 1993.
We conclude that CENPD-382-P provides an acceptable basis for the analysis of core designs containing urania-erbia burnable absorbers.
I have enclosed our safety evaluation report (SER), which details the basis for our approval and the limitations thereof.
The staff will not repeat its review of the matters described in the report and found acceptable when the report appears as a reference in license applications, except to ensure that the material presented applies to the specific plant involved.
NRC acceptance applies only to matters described in the topical report.
In accordance with procedures established in NUREG-0390,
" Topical Report Review Status," please publish accepted versions of this report, proprietary and non-proprietary, within 3 months of receiving this letter.
The accepted version shall incorporate this letter and the enclosed evaluation between the title page and the abstract and an "-A" (designating accepted) following the report identification symbol.
If NRC's criteria or regulations change so that its conclusions as to the acceptability of the report are invalidated, CE and the applicants referencing this topical report should revise and resubmit their respective documentation, or submit justification for the continued applicability of the topical report without revision of their documentation.
