Amersham Corporation, Arlington Heights, Illinois currently has one Certificate of Compliance for a Type B container, Certificate Number 9167 for Model Numbers 3206B, 3327B and 3218.
We do receive shipments of sources from our parent
- company, Amersham International, in the United Kingdom in these containers.
Some of these sources we load into customers holders at our Arlington licights facility before they are shipped to customers in the Type B containers covered by Certificate of Compliance number 9167.
I am writing to request that this Certificate of Compliance is transferred to:

Dear Mr. Easton:
We request that Amersham Corporation, Burlington MA be the certificate holder for Certificate of Compliance Number 9167 for the models 3206B, 3327B and 3218 Type B packages. This transfers the 10 CFR Part 71 QA responsibility from Amersham Corporation, Arlington Heights, IL to Amersham Corporation, Burlington MA.
The Burlington, MA facility will assume the Quality Assurance requirements for the manufacture and maintainence of this package under QA approval number 0040. We have taken over the documents, drawings and procedures referenced for this package, and will perform all the inspections required prior to shipment of this package.
This letter is to support the request by Amersham Corporation, Arlington Heights, IL to terminate their QA program approval number 0037.
