Subject:
Proposed Task Order No. 7 under Contract No. NRC-04-91-047 The purpose of this letter agreement is to confirm verbal authorization provided to Advanced Systems Technology on January 27, 1993, by Joanna Lilley, of my staff, to commence work under the subject task order effective this date.
In accordance with' Section G.5, Accelerated Task Order Procedures, of the subject contract, this effort shall be performed in accordance with the enclosed Statement of Work.
The target date for definitization of this task order is 30 days from the date of this letter. A temporary ceiling of $20,000 is established pending definitization of this task order.
In performing this effort, the Contractor is not authorized to make expenditures or incur obligations exceeding the established temporary ceiling.
The maximum amount for which the Government shall be liable if this task order is terminated is $20,000.
Work performed under Task Order No.7 shall be charged to the following accounting data:

$20,000 If agreement on a definitive task order to supersede this letter agreement is not reached by the target date, or within any extension of it granted by the Contracting Officer, the Contracting Officer may, with the approval of the head of the contracting activity, determine a reasonable price or fee in accordance with Subpart 15.8 and Part 31 of the FAR, subject to Contractor appeal as provided in the Disputes Clause.
In any event, the Contractor shall proceed with completion of the task order, subject only to the Limitation of Government Liability Clause.
After the Contracting Officer's determination of price or fce, the contract shall be governed by:

All clauses required by the FAR on the date of execution of this agreement for either fixed price or cost reimbursement contracts, as determined by the Contracting Officer under this paragraph; (ii) All clauses required by law as of the date of the Contracting Of ficer's determination; and (iii) Any other clauses; terms and conditions mutually agreed upon.
Clause 52.216-26 entitled " Payment of Allowable Costs Before Definitization", incorporated herein by reference, forms a' part of this agreement.
It is brought to your attention that the Contracting Officer is the only individual who can legally commit the Government to the expenditure of publit. funds in connection with this proposed procurement.
All other terms and conditions of the basic contract remain unchanged.
The contractor shall indicate acceptance of this letter agreement by signing three copies of the agreerent and returning two copies to the Contract Administrator identified below not later than February 5,1993.
