extension within which to file their response to the Appeal L

Board's orders dated June 22, 1990 and July 17, 1990. As ,

p grounds for this- motion the Intervenors state:

1. On August 6, 1990:at approximately 3:15 --3:30 p.m.

the word processing system at the Massachusetts Attorney General's (" Mass AG") office ceased to function. The u

'~

Intervenors' response was being transcribed on the system when-this occurred. All terminals on the of fice -wide word processing system were frozen and then-shut down.

2. The Mass AG was informed by the contractor who was

\;

summoned to repair.the system that there was no way of knowing how long the system would be shut down or whether the documents that had been on screen when the system crashed would be lost.
