This confirms the telephone conversation on July 26, 1990, between you and Dick Lavins.
In'that telephone conversation you were informed of the existence of two additional reports which the staff thought would be of interest to you, Consequently, you expanded your reauest to include the two enclosed reports which are identified on the enclosed Appendix B. '

Dear Mr. Grimsley:
This is a formal request pursuant to the federal Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C.A.
sec. 552 et, seq., for the inspection and copying of following documents.
Licences or permits issued to and any records kept on companies in l
the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Brrenx and Staten Island, with regard to their having been previously engaged in handling, processing, transport, storage or other procesres utilizing radioactive materials, including but not limitad to radioactive compounds, isotopes and processed-goods conta'.ning, but not limited 1
to, any of these materials.
On information and' belief, such licenses were issued by the former Atomic Energy Commission under authority created by the Atomic Energy Act. According to Ralph Wild, section leader in the policy and procedures section at NRC's Bethesda office, these records are currently stored in several federal records repositories; Brownstone Publishers will pay for any copying expenses and will cooperate in any way to expedite the fulfillment of this request.
