GUIDANCE FOR THE REPORTING OF EVENTS UNDER THE REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR 50.73 AT THE HATCH NUCLEAR PLANTS, DOCKET NOS. 50-321 AND 50-366, AND AT THE V0GTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANTS, DOCKET NOS. 50-424 and 50-425 2
In response to your memorandum of May 25, 1990, requesting guidance regarding the requirenents for reporting under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.73, enclosed is a memorandum dated July 12, 1990, from Charles E. Rossi to me which provides the requested guidance.
Based on discussions with Georgia Power Company during the June 28, 1990 Interface meeting, we are aware that the BWR Owners Group intends to pursue the 10CFR50.73 interpretation issue with the staff. While this future effort may address the issue of ESF actuations, you should note that both NRR and AE00 support the basic position outlined in the July 12, 1990 memorandum.
