Dear Mr. Thorne:

Enclosed please find a letter dated July 19, 1990 from Westinghouse Electric

~ Corporation requesting an amendment to export license XSNM01431 to increase the quantity;of uranium 235 authorized for export from 10,567 kilograms to 11,627 kilograms, an increase of 1,060 kilograms uranium-235.

Assurances from the Government of Taiwan are required that the additional material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation.

Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
