Enclosed is an application for an export license (XSNM02554), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export of low enriched uranium for use as samples that will be used as standard samples for each assay to calibrate the analyrer of the enrichment plant of Japan Nuclear Fuel Industries Co., Inc. in Japan.

Assurances from the Government of Japan are required that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation.

Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
