From: p kurtz To: Docket, Hearing; Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo

Subject:

[External_Sender] decommissioning Indian Point Date: Saturday, February 22, 2020 9:52:58 PM To Gov. Cuomo and the NRC, I live in Nyack, just a bit over three miles from Indian Point.

I'm writing to ask for a public hearing in Westchester on the decommissioning of Indian Point. This process is too important to take it lightly.

I am also asking for Holtec's plan to be rejected as inadequate and overly vague.

Holtec has a very poor past record, including a record of attempted bribery. Holtec has a past record of prioritizing cutting of costs over safety.

I am also asking for a full site characterization before moving ahead. Until this completed, no one can know the full extent of the work that must be done.

Any plan - such as Holtec's current plan - that does not take into account the natural gas pipeline is unacceptable in terms of risk assessment.

The Holtec plan also apparently fails to remediate the radioactive water, which has been migrating toward the Hudson. This is also unacceptable.

In short, Holtec's plan falls short in numerous ways that put the public at risk. It should be roundly rejected and public hearings should be held before anything moves forward.
