Dear Director:
In my letter of December 12, 1989, I stated that a specific l
decommissioning plan would be submitted to the NRC on or before July 27, 1990. This plan is in its final stages of preparation, but we have been delayed in producing the cost estimate because of delays in obtaining isotope analyses of some concrete shield core samples.
The final cost estimate should be less than $500,000, but this is not yet a firm figure.
t To permit an accurate decommissioning plan, we ask for a sixty-day extension on our submission date.
