SPANISH NUCLEAR SAFETY COUNCll FINAL REPORT ON OCTOBER 19, 1989 FIRE AT VANDEl.LOS 1. NPP.
Attached for your information is a copy of the Final Report issued by the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (the CSN) on the October 19, 1989 fire at the Vande11os 1 Nuclear Power Plant.
Subsequent to the issuance of the attached report, the Spanish utility, Hifrensa, decided to decomission the reactor due to the expense for the extensive repairs and backfits which would have been required to bring the plant back into operation.
