Dear Sirs,
WeLneed to be in touch with your. office concerning ladiation in thei. Peach Bottom area..
We are a-group of citizens in-four counties close to the' plant who hold-geiger 1 counters-owned by the
. Peach Bottom-Alliance.
Because neither the NRC nor Philadelphia Electric were' aware of conditions-in the control room at the plant in 1987,.and because we,Jas individuals, cannot reach'INPO -
The Institute of the outfit that did call'a-halt ~to Nuclear Power-Operators operations-at Peach Bottom,- we believe. We need to monitor radiation ourselves.-
WeLexpect to summarize readings from these stations and to-report to yousand to the. organizations listed below.
We' expect to report-to you weekly.
"At present our report will cover four; stations, with a fifth to be available before long, andLseveral more' to:-surround Lthe plant; by September, forming a wide' belt meshing withithe. monitoring now under way around.Three Mile Island.
We1have= technical assistance.from radiation _ experts in.this.
area, and we hope to be in touch 'with your office'from time.to-time-
. tor.
information
'and ' assistance-in interpreting and comprehending.such information as-we may acquire.:
._Please bear la with us.as our questions come in to/you while we try to inform.
~
ourselves and each other of these conditions.

Please understand that our only interest-in this operation
' is a concern for the health and welfare of the fellow residents of our home area, of our farm animals, and of the plants and.the land we have owned for decades, land.we feel, was intruded upon by the nuclear plants that_recently moved in near' properties.
Sincerely, b
