Dr. Murley:

In accordance with the requirements of 10CfR50.71(e), Conanonwealth Edison hereby submits the annual FSAR update for Quad Cities Units I and 2. Units 1 and 2 have a common FSAR, and therefore, the revision contains information for both units.

a The UFSAR has been prepared in accordance with guidance provided by the

-May 9, 1980 federal Register Notice and Reference (a). Consistent with that guidance, this update has been prepared in the original FSAR format with the original level of detall. No; attempt'has been made to revise the format or content to conform wtth the recommendations contained in Regulatory Guide 1.70.

Commonwealth Edison has; applied its established procedures to identify the information required to be submitted for this revision, including todifications to

.the facility as described.in the'llfSAR that have been made since the last submittal 4 (Reference (b)). In our judgment, the information provided accurately piesents those changes made since the(pipvious submittel which are necessary to reflect

-information and analyses submilled to the NRC, and that all changes requiring NRC l . approval have been reviewed by the NRC. For all other changes, there are safety evaluations on-site to document the Station's determination that prior NRC approval was not required.
