RE: NOTIFICATION OF CHANGE IN THE REVERSE O8MOSIS DISCHARGE -
NORTH ANNA POWER STATION
Dear Mr Kregloe:
r This letter is to inform the Virginia Water Control Board that a' change has been made in the location of the. discharge of reject water from North Anna's reverse osmosis -(RO) water-purification,
~.
system.
As you-are > aware the discharge from the RO had been temporarily directed to the settling pond since recirculation was discontinued-last summer.
As of June 26, 1990, the discharge is
?
directed to the discharge tunnel at the intake structure per_your.
recommendation.
The waste water involved is lake water concentrated approximately 4-fold.
Though the constituents in the RO reject are new to the l
1 discharge-tunnel, the overall change in the-quantity and quality of the discharge from the tunnel (Outfall 010) is negligible.
No effluent limitations'or water quality standards are violated.
This change was anticipated and described in the, VPDES permit application submitted for the station.
It should appear in the reissued permit as internal'outfall 020. -Twice monthly monitoring for flow, pH, and TSS as specified in the draft permit and previously agreed to will be initiated immediately..
