Examination Report No. 50-134/90-01 (OL)
During the week of April 16, 1990,.the NRC administered examinations to four
candidates who had applied for licenses to operate the Worcester Polytechnic
I
Institute Open Pool Reactor. All of the candidates passed all portions of the
examination and were issued licenses.
.
At the conclusion of this examination, the preliminary findings were discussed
with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
During the course of this examination, it was determined that, in the event of
an evacuation, personnel would-have to walk approximately two olocks to the WPI
Security Office to reach the nearest frisker outside the reactor facility.
The
NRC. understands that your staff is aware of this situation ~ and is considering
possible' options.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
