Dear Chairman Palladino:
Members of the Sorghum Alliance believe that the 1977 Final Environmental Impact Statement on the Clinch River Breeder Reactor is in several respects out of date. For instance, since 1977 the design of the reactor vessel and fuel core have undergone major changes, and NRC regulations have themselves altered. The significant new facts and circumstances should be made known to the public and considered by the NRC before the reactor is licensed.
We therefore request that a draft supplement to the FEIS for Clinch River be written and that it be sent to the Sorghum Alliance, for comments.
