Dear Ms. Liebman:

This is to confirm our conversation regarding the appearance of Mr.

Robert Warnick at a hearing before the Ohio Public Utilities Comission concerning the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company. Mr. Warnick will be available on Wednesday, July 14, 1982, at 9:30 a.m. to answer questions posed by the hearing examiners and the parties to the proceeding.

Mr. Warnick is appearing in response to Chairman Kelly's request of July 2,1982, to James G. Keppler, Regional Administrator for NRC Region III.

Mr. Warnick is appearing as a matter of comity to the Ohio Public Utilities Comission and is not appearing on behalf of any particular party to the proceeding. Stephen H. Lewis will accompany Mr. Warnick as counsel, and I understand that he will be permitted to make a brief statement and appropriate objections on the record. It is also my understanding that the subpoena issued by the Comission to Mr. Waldman Christianson will be withdrawn.
