On June 11, 1982, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. and the Sierra Club (Intervenors) fileo a Petition to the Commissioners to Exercise Tneir Inherent Supervisory Authority To Delineate the Scope of the Limited Work Authorization Pr oceeding For the Clinch River Breeder Reactor.

A response to this petition was filed by Applicants Department of Energy, Project Management Corporation, and Tennessee Valley Authority on July 1, 1982.

We are writing to inform the Commission that we intend to file a reply to Applicants' response as soon as possible.

Such a reply appears essential in order to dispel the misleading impression lef t by App]icants, as a result of their distortion beyond recognition of our arguments.

Since lead counsel f or Intervenors, Ellyn R. Weiss, will be out of town until July 19, 1982, and since remining counsel must spend the next few weeks participating in the Commission's expedicea 10 CFR $ 50.12 proceeding s, the earliest time we expect to be able to file a reply is the week of Ju ly 19, 1982.
