MEETING SU!iMARY,fiAY 13, 1982 MEETIr1G BETWEEN tiRC STAFF AND CONNECTICUT YA!iKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY (CYAPC0) ON APP 8NDIX R FIRE PROTECTION FOR THE HADDAM fiECK PLAliT On Thursday, May 13, 1982, a meeting was held with representatives of CYAPCO. The purpose of that meeting was so that the licensee could explain and clarify its March 1, 1982 submittal on Appendix R - fire protection for the !!addam Neck Plant. The list of attendees is.
The licensee briefly discussed the 1978 fire protection SER, gave an overview of their !! arch 1,1982 submittal, discussed cable types in the Haddam Neck plant and briefly discussed their concept of customized administrative controls. An example of these is provided in Enclosure 2.
The bulk of the presentation concerned a detailed discussion of the 15 fire zone exemption requests from Appendix R that were contained in their itarch 1 submittal. Whera appropriate, these discussions were supplemented with. slides taken inside the various fire zones of the plant. Copies of the viewgraphs accompanying the presentation are provided in Enclosure 3.
The fiRC staff requested the licensee to provide to them, within 60 days, several additional pieces of information concerniag many of the fire zones; including such things as detailed sketches of areas where they fail to meet Appendix R, test reports on cable coatings, etc. The licensee felt that he could respond to these requests within 30 days.
Within this same 30-60 day period the fiRC staff will be preparing their official response to the 15 exemptions to Appendix R requested by Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company.
