FORTHCOMING MEETING WITH DUQUESflE LIGHT & WESTINGHOUSE REGARDING OBSERVED LARGE DISCREPANCY BETWEEN ROD DEMAND AND ROD INDICATION DURING STARTUP Date and Time:

Purpose:
On June 11, 1982, Reaver Valley 1 was to be restarted after refueling. When the primary coolant was at about 350*F, the shutdown banks of control rods were fully withdrawn to step 228, tut the position indicators were indicating average with-drawal to about step 170. This discrepancy disappeared when Tavg was raised to 547 'F.
The purpose of this meeting is to examine the possible reasons for this observation.
