Thank you for your letter of April 27, 1982, in response to our letter of February 19, 1982.
We have no further questions at this time on your response to Item A of our Notice of Nonconformance and will review your corrective actions and preventive measures during a future inspection.
We concur with your position that paragraph NCA-3820(b) of Section III of the ASME Code referenced in Item B of our Notice of Nonconformance is not applicable to the ASTM A-500 material. Therefore, this nonconformance is closed and it will be documented in our next inspection report.
However, it should be noted that we will review the criteria you have established for purchasing items or services from supplies that had not been surveyed and/or placed on your Approved Vendor List in accordance with the requirements of your ASME accepted Quality Assurance Program (NCA-4000) on a subsequent inspection.
