Dear Ms. Doi:

This is an additional response to your letter dated April 19, 1982 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, documents relating to the cancellation, postponement, termination or deferral of nuclear plant construction since 1/1/80.

The documents listed on the appendix were recently identified by the Commission and are being placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20555.

The charge for reproducing records located in the PDR is five cents ($0.05) per page, as specified in 10 CFR 9.14(a).

Copies of these documents can be purchased by writing directly to the PDR. The number of pages per document is indicated in the appendix. Upon your agreement to pay the reproduction charges, the PDR will arrange for the records to be reproduced by Literature Research Company, a private reproduction contractor servicing the PDR.

You will be billed by Literature Research Company for the reproduction charges, plus tax and postage.

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C.

S9 (subpart A), the Critical Mass Energy Project hereby requests copies of, and otherwise access to, the infor-mation detailed as follows:

Any and all documents, including letters, memoranda, reports, studies, and testimony which discuss, project, predict, or suggest the cancellation, postponement, termination, or deferral of nuclear plant construction.

t Specifically included in this request is a memorandum supplied to Commissioner Gilinsky in 1981 which is referred to by William J.

Dircks (EDO) in his February 19, 1982 memorandum for Commissioner Ahearne.

Also requested is Commissioner Ahearne's initial request for data which the above cited memorandum is a response to.

Also included in'this request are preparatory and draft materials and other documents and studies used as sources in formulating Dircks' Feb. 19, 1982 memo-randum to Commissioner Ahearne, as well as any similar studies prepared by EDO, MPA, or Commissioners' offices pertaining to the subject as outlined above.

(I have already contacted Mr.

R.A.

Hartfield, MPA, who has been very helpful in supplying the Merrill Lynch report which was presented at the American Nuclear Society meeting in San Francisco in December 1981.

This document is therefore excluded from this request.)
