Dear Mr. Engelken:
Pursuant to Section 6.9.2 of Appendix A of the Technical Specifications to the Diablo Canyon Unit 1 Operating License, this Special Report is submitted concerning a non-functional fire barrier penetration which was not restored to functional status within 7 days, as required by Technical Specification 3.7.10.
Fire Barrier Penetration KK871 located between the Control Room and the Cable Spreading Room became non-functional on April 22, 1982 due to construction activities required to install new conduit between the two rooms.
As required by the Technical Specification Action Statement, a continuous fire watch was established in the Control Roan until the penetration was restored to j
functional status on May 2G, 1982.
