The MRC has amended its regulations regarding energency preparedness planning requirements for test and research reactors to extend the dates for submittal of eneroency preparedness plans, 47 FR 19512.
Plans for test and research reactors large* than two negawatts must now be submitted by Septerher #, 1982.
Plans for reactors smaller than two negawatts continue to be due by Povenber 3,1982.
accordingly, subr:ittal of your integated site-uide energency preparedness clan covering both your test and research reactor operations and your licensed material activities, as agreed to by you and the I;RC some time ago, is now due by t!ovenber 3,1982. That integrated plan nust provide bott the infomation required for your test and research reactor operations and the infomation requirerents for radiological contingency planning relative to your licensed materials activities as specified in " Standard Fornat and Content for Radiological Contingency Plans for Fuel Cycle and Materials Facilities," !!UPEG-0762 and " Standard Review Plan for the Review of Radiological Contingency Plans for Fuel Cycle and Materials Facilities,"
MUREG-0010, enclosed.
If you so choose, you pay subnit a separate radiological contingency plan for your licensed naterial activities in accordance with the guidance cited above also by Noverber 3,1982. He urge you, however, to prepare and subnit an integrated site-wide plan since a single plan would be expected to be operationally advantageous conpared to two separate plans.
