Dear Mr. Keppler:
The purpose of this letter is to update information previously provided to you in Reference (a).
Re ference (a) stated that replacement piping for Unit 1 will be completed by July, 1982.
It should be noted that although the Unit 1 piping has successfully passed required tests, Common-wealth Edison Company decided to replace it, along with the Unit 2 piping which exhibited cracking.
Commonwealth Edison has determined that the replacement of the Unit 1 piping will not be completed by July, 1982.
The primary reasons for not meeting the July,1982 completion date are bad working weather (most of the piping is underground) and redirection of craf t manpower to other critical tasks.
The revised expected completion date for the replacement of the currently intact Unit 1 piping is October 15, 1982.
This revised date includes some margin for currently unforseen problems.
