In accordance with Section 3507 of Public Law 96-511 of December 11, 1980 and regulations of the Office of Management and Budget, I am enclosing for OMB review copies of Standard Form-83 and the Supporting Statement covering reporting and recordkeeping requirements of 10 CFR 50.49.
The estimated respondent burden is 27,920 hours0.0106 days <br />0.256 hours <br />0.00152 weeks <br />3.5006e-4 months <br />.
In accordance with NRC's procedures, my staff has made an independent review of the practical utility and necessity for the proposed information collection and we are in concurrence with this proposal.
We have also reviewed for duplication and found no similar requirement in the agency.
Therefore, we are transmitting this material for appropriate OMB review and approval.
The Commission has determined under subsection (d)(1) of Section 553 of the Administrative Procedure Act that the final rule should take immediate effect upon publication to relieve a restriction that requires all operating reactor licensees to complete environmental qualificatior of safety-related electrical equipment by June 30, 1982. The final rule implementation schedule supplants this date and gives licensees additional time to complete environmental qualification of safety-related electrical equipment.
To meet this timetable, NRC expects to issue the final rule the second week of June, 1982.
