Mr. M. R. Beebe Office of Resource Management Management Information Branch Refererces:

(a) License No. DPR-36 (Docket No. 50-309)

(b) USNRC Letter to MYAPC, dated April 23, 1982

Subject:

Verification of Draft Radioactive Effluent Summary

Dear Sir:

In response to your letter, Reference (b), we have reviewed the draft summary of radioactive ef fluents to verify the accuracy of the information before its publication.

To confirm the conversation between you and Mr. Groce on May 21, we identified no numerical errors in the yearly summaries, but as we have observed in previous reviews, the "less than" (4) values, which are expressed in uC1/cc should not be summed since they do not represent actual units of activity.

The less than (4) values represent the maximum sensitivity of the measurement and are provided in accordance with Reg. Guide 1.21, Rev.1.

We trust you will find the information satisfactory; however, should you desire further discussion, please contact us.

Very truly yours, MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER WMPANY
