This letter is to inform you of recent actions GE has taken to document the results of the GE Suppression Pool Scrubbing Test Program. We recently submitted an Appendix to GESSAR II which includes a description of the testing and the first principle analytical model developed as part of the program. This information was submitted on the GESSAR II docket on May 28, 1982.

We have also sought technical peer review of our program and results. In addition to our meeting with key NRC NRR and RES Staff personnel in early April, we have recently completed presentations to experts at Sandia, Oak Ridge, and Battelle - Columbus Laboratories. All of these presentations were very well received.

The appropriate sections of our recent GESSAR submittal dealing with the scrubbing program are provided as an attachment to this letter. If you have any questions regarding pool scrubbing, please contact me at (408) 925-4050 or Joe Quirk (408) 925-2606 of my staff.
