Dear Sir:
Your letter of April 28, 1982 (Reference 1) included in Appendicies A and B, a list of emergency preparedness action items for the James A. FitzPatrick IMclear Power Plant. These items resulted from a February 16-25, 1982 special appraisal report which was included in your letter as Appendix C.
The Authority, through discussion with members of your staff, developed a schedule of completion dates for the six items of Appendix A.
'1he resulting schedule was confirmed in an April 1,1982 letter (Reference 2).

As you know, an emergency preparedness exercise for the FitzPatrick plant is scheduled for August 11, 1982.
To support this scheduled date, the Authority's emergency planning staff and other personnel are currently developing exercise objectives; developing a scenario; preparing exercise documents; and, attend-ing coordination meetings with Fedeiral', state and local agencies.
Therefore, the Authority requests that the response dates for Appendix B and C items be extended until-July 27, 1982 and September 24, 1982 respectively.
No extension is requir,d for the response ;o Appendix A items.
This extension will allow the Authority to concentrate on planning, executing and evaluating the emergency exercise in an effective and deliberate manner.
It will further afford the opportunity to review the emergency plan considering the exercise experience, in addition to the evaluation report in Appendix C of Reference 1.
