Brief Resume DAVID ELKIND David Elkind is currently professor and chairman, Eliot-Pearson Depart-ment of Child Study, at Tufts University. He was formerly professor of psychology, psychiatry and education at the University of Rochester. After taking his doctorate at UCLA, Dr. Elkir.d spent a year as a post-doctoral fellow with David Rapaport at the Austen Riggs Center. In 1964-65 he spent a year at Piaget's Center D'Epistemologie Genetique in Geneva. His research has been in the areas of cognitive and perceptual development where he has attempted to build upon the research of Jean Piaget. Dr. Elkind's bibliography r.ow numbers more than two hundred and fifty items and includes research studies, review and theoretical articles, book chapters, books, and more popular pieces such as children's stories for Jack and Jill and articles for the New York Times Magazine, Parents' Magazine, Saturday Review, and Psychology Today.

Dr. Elkind's most recent books include: Child development & education:

Contemporary perspectives (with D. Hetzel) , Harper & Row,1977: Development of the child (with I. Dr. Elkind is consulting editor to many psychological journals, is a member of some ten professional organizations and is a consultant to government agencies, private foundations, state education departments, clinics and mental health centers. He also lectures extensively in the United States and in Canada.
