This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition, initially reported as a potentially reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55(e).

CG&E Nonconformance Report #0-NPD-82-2140-E was generated which noted that motor operated Anchor-Darling Valves with anti-rotational devices were subject to operational failure if the set screw holding the stem collar in place should loosen.

This item is under investigation, and a report will be submitted by July 10, 1982.

We trust the above will be found acceptable as an interim report under 10CFR50.55(e).
