20555 License No. DPR-35 Docket No. 50-293 Extension of Submittal Date for the Second Ten Year Inspection Program
Dear Sir:
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(5)(ii), Boston Edison Company (BECo) is required to submit a revised Ten Year In-Service Inspection Program six (6) months prior to the start of the pmceeding 120 month service life of Pilgrim Nuclear Powcr Station. The Ten Year In-Service Inspection Program shall meet the requirements set forth in the latest revision of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes,Section XI.
Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station will end its first 120 month operating interval on December 8,1982, therefore the revised program was due on June 8,1982.
BECo would like to request a three (3) month extension to Deptember 8,1982. Our ex-tension request is dictated by the extended length of our last refueling and the fact that qualified personnel currently involved in the preparation of the final 1981 In-Service Inspection Report, due July 8,1982, are the same individuals that would be involved in the preparation of the new Revised Ten Year In-Service Inspection Program.
This request for a three month extension will not impact on the first scheduled inspection period for the new Revised Ten Year In-Service Inspection Program since the next refueling outage is scheduled for September 1983.
